Shipment December 2000, huh?
Very interesting, but a tight deadline for the DE, it would seem.
For the last six months we have been working on extending our SimpleBox line
to include more robust devices and software. When we recently came across
what the team from the new Amiga was doing with VP,JAVA and more, we acted
immediately. Working closely with Amiga we have fast tracked Phase One of
the SimpleBox JAVA Internet Device (JID) Program. We initially selected a
proven x86 hardware solution for the Amiga Virtual Processor technology and
Multimedia Layer integration with our SimpleBox User Interface. Phase One
plans call for a limited production run of 10,000 units to ship in December,
2000. We are still studying the details of Phase Two.

How much is SimpleBox JID?
Phase One Prelim street price based on current spec is US$399. +
shipping/handling. Final Specs & Pricing will be fixed by late October.
Sales Channels?
Phase One Plans call to sell our SimpleBox wb8616JID via direct channel
(you can place an email reservation now) and also thru a network of
worldwide professional distributors. We are getting much interest from
regional and national ISPs who want to bundle our SimpleBox JID as a part of
their broadband service offerings. If you are an ISP or Distributor
interested in volume purchases for your channel, please send email with
company background to sales@meternet.com
Please check back often as our Phase One campaign details are finalized.
Keep it simple...with SimpleBox.
