I'd prefer all programs to contain standard default key configs, (based on
Amiga style guide), with optional user defined exceptions.
- if no key config file exists, uses default settings.
- if key config file exists, uses user defined setting for those keys
listed, and default keys for those not. User might be happy with all
default keys, but (for some strange reason) might want to use Alt-F4 to
close windows. Therefore, key config file contains just one entry.
The format of the file could simply be old-key, new-key, i.e.:
ESC, ALT-F4
This would probably allow key config files to be copied to different
directories, where they would then work with completely different
applications.
(I never use hotkeys anyway...)
