My Comments.
Some people are still TRUE dedicated Amigans and not intending to defect or
surrender to the Evil from Redmond.
I am asking for -- no, need it! -- windoze SDK, becos, due to the facts of
life I just NEED to have a peecee. Unfortunatley, my A1200 is not upto it
for the apps of this day which means it is not used anymore. I bought just
about most decent commercial Amiga game releases of the past 3 or 4 years
and a few more of the games in the years before that. However, I don't
like to watch slideshows, becos Quake, Napalm, Myst and Foundation:
Directors Cut is just that: slideshows on my A1200-030 28Mhz. The only
game/app I still do play/use is the verrrrry nice "T-Zer0".
But, commercally I need a PC running windoze. Trying to keep Amigans from
using/switching to windoze will just make them more proactive on getting on
Windoze. Recently, Linux was a good choice for getting a SDK out quick.
Now, to attract commercial talent, you unfortunatley just need to have the
Windoze hosted SDK available. Its just a fact of life. We ALL know that
Windoze is a pile of bloated rubbish, but thats unfortunaltey NOT going to
stop 98% of the planet investing in it. And, not all of Windoze is that
bad... (flame me here, please!). However, I like many other silent voices
needs to have a Windoze hosted SDK.
In my opinion ther are/is/was/were 4 stages of personal computing.
* The 8-bit erain the 70's and 80's: ZX-Spectrum, Dragon, BBC2 and my
favourite: Cbm64
* The 16-bit wars with the superiour Amiga500/2000's over the squeling of
MSDOS and AtariST.
* The 32bit struggle of Commodore with the CD32 and A1200 versus Windoze95
* The games area with 3D cards and Pentium-III, Apple Mac somehwere in
between.
The next generation personal and commercial computing is the new Amiga.
Leading the way into the future of platform/CPU independence, once again
with a revolutionary concept: Amiga, Inc!!
Let's build on the past a better future, but for now we need to use Windoze.
Michiel.

Right. With Linux, Black Billy doesn't get any of the developer's
Money. Just as importantly, he doesn't he get the inextricably
associated direct and indirect support for his criminal monopoly.
Of course, it remains my own opinion that this is a tremendously wrong
and self destructive decision for Amiga Inc. I still think it's a
complete waste of commitment, time, money and resources that is
especially disapointing in light of the total lack of promised legacy
Amiga support. But that's been said, too.
