Not true; if the function is publicly documented and you don't work
from the original function's code (without permission), but just it's
description, it is perfectly legal to make a replacement function.
People have done this time and again on the Amiga... what do you
think CGX is? Replaced graphics.library and intuition.library
functions plus an extra library. Ever seen FastBlit? Or
FasterMemCopy? Many optimized parts of copyrighted Amiga libraries
and devices have been around for YEARS without ONE PEEP from Amiga.
