Try going to the early startup-menu (reboot, hold both mouse buttons),
and turning caches off before booting up to WB, see if that makes any
difference...(check you don't have anything turning them back on in
your startup scripts though ;)

Also worth disabling you WBStartup and user-startups, and commenting out
any patches in startup-sequence...

Anyway, it's obviously not your program at fault if it's crashing during
compilation (/unless/...you've already run your program, it's screwed up
the memory, then when compiling /again/ it screws up?)...
