Welcome to the SEAL website... offline!
This is our 3rd outing on a Neil Bothwick compilation
(you`ll see SEAL on two CU Amiga cd`s).
We`d obviously like to wish (as if they need it) Amiga Active loads of success etc etc blah blah blah, but with people like Andrew Korn, Neil Bothwick, Simon Archer etc etc they`ll make their own luck, and an excellent publication (Andrew...send the cheque to you know where) :).
Hope you have fun wandering around this weird site of ours (where you`ll find interviews of Andrew `Sneferu` Korn and Neil Bothwick, amongst others).

Just in case you`re new here, we`re a pretty good user group that tries it`s best to give as much as it can to the Amiga community (and by default, ourselves). That`s why we have this luvverly website, a luvverly magazine ("Clubbed") which you should all immediately subscribe to :) and a prodigious presence in the British (and by default...world) Amiga community.
We don`t try to offer all the latest news though, as we believe there are enough great dedicated news sites out there (Czech; Amiga Web; Amiga.org) already. What we do try and do though, is report in our own inimitable way on the more important Amiga happenings in the world, often with as much extra info as possible. We`ve covered the WoA `98 Friday Night Announcement (which started this whole Amiga NG thing); Closure of CU Amiga (with a Neil Bothwick interview); Preview of Amiga Active (with an Andrew Korn interview); and many other events of note. At the very least, we take in all the information from elsewhere, and give you our honest opinion(s), we call a Spade a Spade (well actually in Australia we call it a Shovel, but anyway). So have a good look around and read all the interesting stuff we`ve collected for you. Stay cool, and check up on us often (use our links page as a springboard for all good things Amiga). Oh, and subscribe to our magazine :)
Basically, we`re a bunch of Amiga freaks, who got together
due to the inspiration of Mick Sutton ("sicky"). To the right you can see our new mascot...SEALZILLA. If you want to see his bigger twin, click on him.

We formed SEAL for a few reasons, and guess what ? Here they are :)
SEAL meets bi-weekly on a Friday evening at our venue
We produce a quarterly magazine (Clubbed) which has gotten rave reviews from people like Fleecy Moss, Petro, Gary Peake, and (though he won't admit it) Ben Vost.
The Amiga has had a bad 5 years or so, thanks to crap management. We still have some fantastic support and features though, like
true multitasking and true auto-config. We have the best graphics manipulation software and are the most internet
efficient. We've gone ppc and are playing Quake, Myst, Descent etc, emulating Macs to near perfection and doing a pretty good job
at pc's too. The largest shareware site on the web (by far) is Aminet, and we have the most loyal users. Why ? I believe it's mostly
down to the friendly and efficient os. It's a much nicer machine to use than a pc at the end of the day. We know, most of us work with
pc's every day. We have IT people and internet engineers in SEAL. We use the pc's at work, having them bug out on us for no
reason, and come home to relax with a decent machine. Crazy ? try it. We're not stupid, we know the pc's hardware is way ahead of practically
anything we have.....but it's bogged down by that sloth Microsoft Windows and other stuff. We feel sorry for MS users. Amiga OS
is a shining torch in the darkness. And it's always getting better. Amiga isn't dead.....it's a sleeping giant. NASA have always used
Amiga's (reliability). Steven Spielberg is an Amigan (Many movies' graphics (Jurassic Park; Titanic; Lost In Space; Star Trek; Babylon 5)
are produced on Amiga's.
