you have SCSI but want performance from your IDE ? you're mad! ditch the
IDE, go SCSI!

its not the AGE of the drive which matters, its the capability!
eg 7200RPM 8ms-access 2Mb cache HD (eg Quantum Fireball latest) is
going to run rings around a 5400RPM 12ms-access 256k cache HD (eg cheap
Seagate)

what size buffers have you got set up on the disk?
