IIRC, you can add a line to your User-startup along the lines of:
AddBuffers DH0: 500
or something like that.
Try it first useing the command line to see if it works (I'm not at
the miggy ATM, so cannot test now)
I had to go down this route for my SCSI drive and it seemed to work
without any problems.
