Are you saying that if you read the CD into an image file on HD it
takes 20 minutes, but copying the same CD to a directory on the same HD
takes two hours?
If so, there's something seriously screwed on your hard drive's
filesystem that's slowing down the writing process. Does the CD contain
drawers with lots of small files?
