I have tried several variations trying to get lame to run with my ppc but
they all fail. First, I have two versions I am testing with - 3.1x and
3.xx,
according to the readme files. The 3.1x is an earlier distribution and
contains
lame for the 060 and lame.elf (ppc). If I run lame (060) it works so I am
executing
it correctly. If I run lame.elf it says something like elf: not found. The
3.xx
distribution only has a ppc version. If I have Warp installed and run it,
it opens
the output file for writing and then just sits there. The system doesn't
hang
but I have to reboot to get rid of it. If I install PowerUP, it appears to
be running
(the cd I'm reading from is accessed) but then the system memory starts
going
down until the computer crashes. So, has anyone gotten lame for the ppc to
work? Any idea where I might be going wrong?
