Hello Mikey

Not really. The Nintendo Gamecube - the world's coolest little not-a-cube
console - has a guaranteed release date in Japan, some time in June or July
if I rememeber rightly.

They were mumbling about a simultaneous US release, with the UK release
being in November rather than next Easter, but while Nintendo is confident
none of the analysts are because they're bound to not have made enough
consoles to fit demand.

This is down to demand being a double-edged sword: low demand means
you'll get negligable sales, but you can always meet that demand with a
low supply. High demand means you'll get skyrocketing sales, and you
can't make enough to go around.

I think Nintendo are hoping that people will hold off for some really
decent games (that's what Nintendo are about, afterall) to pop up in
the months AFTER the initial launch. But the analysts know better: the
GC is a guaranteed hotcake.

(Nintendo are also worried about the Gameboy Advance, which is almost
on a simultaneous release with the Gamecube, and they think they're
bring THAT out in the US at the same time as well :)

Far from being vapour, the Gamecube is what everyone is waiting for,
we just don't know when precisely we're going to get it over the initial
Japanese release.

The BoXeR? Well it'd do well to be anticipated at the moment, let alone
released (although there are rumours..)

And no matter what you say, Mikey C, the AmigaONE also fits into the
"yeah, so what?" category in the big scheme of things.

You don't even know what it does and you're excited about it's release
and probably even want one. How dumb is that? :)

Thanks
