Subject:Amiga Format Shocker

The weekly Amiga Format Anonymous meeting in Brighton was put into turmoil
today by the surprise announcement that a statue had been erected in its
memory. AiG webmaster, Gareth Knight commented:

"Amiga Format served the Amiga for 12 years. It is only fair that it should
be remembered in a fitting manner. AiG has documented the cover and news
stories of every issue between 1988 and 1994 to preserve its wisdom for
future generations."

The announcement was met with shock by many patients, who were gradually
being weaned from the dangerous substance. Ben Vest, former editor and Pub
correspondent, made an emotional statement:

"It's not fair (sob). They told me it was over. They forced me to grow a
goatee, get drunk at least three times a week, and wear a '3D World' Patch
for the cravings (sob). Where's my Amiga and copy of DOpus? I feel a song
coming on...."

Like a good News of the World reporter, we made our excuses and left.*
