Subject: | Travan tape drives? |
Greets,
On my PC is a very nice Travan tape drive which uses very small
cartridges. The ones I can use have 8 gigabytes capacity
compressed, or 4 Gb uncompressed. It's excellent.
I'd like to have one of these drives on my towered A4000. Travan
drives are made by Fujitsu (and others) and there are scsi and ide
versions. I'd prefer the scsi as I have an Oktagon scsi
controller, and I'd not have to fuss with a 'slave' IDE device
which might be temperamental.
Does anyone have experience of using a Travan drive with an Amiga?
And can Diavolo use a Travan drive? I can't find this mentioned in
the Diavolo manual, though it does say Diavolo can handle
"removable media directly without need for a file system". And
"Diavolo works with any streamer having scsi interface", which
sounds promising.
I'm asking here in case someone knows the answers, and before
contacting the Diavolo help desk.
John
