I agree with that. My A4000 is seldom switched off unless I want
to change external connections, clean up my desk, or go away on
holiday. I'm sure that's why I've had no problems with e.g. the
battery which looked and behaved as new after 7 years. I did
replace it then, for safety's sake :-) But I do put the monitor
into stand-by at night.

Yep. And it saves a bit on heating in my computer room :-)
