| Subject: | upgraded to CGX v4 - crashes with OS39??? |
Hello everyone,
I finally bit the bullet and bought Cybergraphics v4 s/ware for my CV643d
gfx card.
I installed it as instructed (from the "upgrade" install script on the floppy)
and ignored the "backup existing graphics system" as I had recently backed
up my entire hard drive (just as well, too!).
All went well; I tried to use the same settings as I had on CGX v3 during
the install but when completed and I rebooted, it crashed with a guru...
I know I had problems with v3 (demo/public domain version) before, and I
can't remember how I fixed it (it was a different problem though - CVision3d
monitor file made the system freeze when it attempted to load).
I have had different guru numbers on each crash, so that doesn't help me
either! (8000 0020, 8000 000B, 8000 0004 are three I think I had).
I restored my backed-up cgxsystem, cgxvideo, & bootpic libs from my recent
backup and also the monitor file, and it works as normal (except for the
c:loadmondrvrs or whatever it is called that is now in the startup-sequence)
So has anyone else had problems with CGX4 with OS39? I am tempted to
install it onto my old OS30 partition (after I back it up of course!) to see
if it works with that or not...
