hi,
has anyone toyed with FFTW (fastest fourier transform in the west)?
it appears to be portable code, but I need to compile it for AmigaOS
so that i can use it as an '-l' option with gcc..ie i need to compile
it as a gcc library .
if not FFTW, has anyone made libraries of any type for GCC - if so can you
mail me and we can go through the steps required to make the file I need?
PS ob note: whats this for? well, I've ported the Mersennes prime search
engine to AmigaOS - under WarpUP, 68k is WAY to slow for this business.
but its an older engine...the fastest engine for PPC available is using
FFTW and almost gets as fast as THE fastest engine..which is almost 100%
x86 assembler - the prime95 engine.
main page for all of this is http://www.mersenne.org/prime.htm
its a $100,000 prize...so not to be sniffed at.... I want an Amiga
team in on the action...I've wanted this for the past 2 years (since I
joined the effort) but my development environment has always been too
broken and outdated...that phase is now all over and i can happily compile
WarpUP code using latest GCC on the PPC (much much faster than compiling
on 68k)
