I have a similar problem with the exact same setup as you except
the OS is 3.9,
but for me the whole screen is corrupt. A '1 in 10' rate is
about the same as I
get.

Sorry I don't know what's going on but for me this also happens
when I use the
monitor on the PC, (the same style corruption) so I was thinking
it's a monitor
problem. For the PC it always seems to happen if I turn the
monitor on after
the computer has booted.
On the Amiga though, I've noticed no such pattern. This if for
an NEC monitor.
