I have recorded loads of LP's and 12" records, not for mp3's, but for
music CD's.I have tried the following soundboards:
Delfina Lite,Toccata,AD516,Concertio and Prelude.
Prelude is definately the best of them all, and the one I use today.
Delfina is no good at 44,1KHz.I think it uses the same sound codec
as Prelude, but when sampling at 44,1KHz with Delfina, it actually does
48KHz internally and does nasty resampling to 44,1KHz, meaning less
treble.
I used Delfina Lite for about 2 years, and this was Really annoying.
The best thing about Delfina is its powerful DSP.
AD516 is not very good eitiher at this.Though the Studio16 software
is excellent and the board runs on a minimun system load, it does not
deliver the HiFi sound I want. Its good at what its designed for, video
sound.
Concertio is a nightmare, probably the worst of them all.Crap.
Toccata is old too, but still reasonably good at recording.
I would really recommend Prelude, if you want the best sound board
for recording, or wait for Repulse.I use Prelude Tape Deck for
recording and Samplitude Opus for editing.
