when people are overtaking me - and they're doing 80-90mph I'm not too
concerned about doing 75. anyway, beside the point.... i've never really
been into cars (instead I've spend loads of time doing computer
customisation ;-) ) ...however someone did suggest I used the pin-through
bonnet system - as in rally driver and boy-racer cars....at which point i
found myself thinking...hmm, yes, that and a new paintjob and some large
chrome exhaust and it'd be.... whaah! :-)
of course, its pretty much like computer design....being bodged up by the
big-sellers. the Amiga had a great design...overtaken by bad-design
powered by higher clockrates. likewise the good design -reverse bonnet
opening- has been superceeded by that which allows bonnets to be ripped up
by the high ait-resistance if theres a catch-failure. why? quick-n-easy
access without needing to drop the engine down if repairs are needed.
anyway, much as i am in favour of the high number crunching rates of PCs
and still like the Amiga , I'm in favour of cheaper repairs and can just
look with joy at the older design of cars. (much like i half-like the new
Crysler with its old and new retrospect....will the new Amiga be like
that?)
