Aha, there in may lie the problem. If you have Linux partitions set to
automount, then the Amiga freaks and won't boot. The solution is somewhat
risky. You need to be able to boot your system from any drive which has a copy
of HDToolbox on it, but not from the same physical drive which is causing
problems. Before booting, remove the power cable from your hard drive, but not
the data cable. After the system has done its boot disk checks and started
booting, insert the power cable to the drive so it spins up. When the system
has booted, go into HDToolbox and make sure any Linux partitions you have are
not set to automount.

Alternatively, find a PC owner with a SCSI card who can nuke your hard drive for
you.
