Not good I'm afraid, I'm glad blank CDs only cost 50p each ;-)

I have to install the Base.tgz from my HD. It still won't work directly from
the CD.
Then when I reboot into the section that AA18 covers, it will allow me to
scan the 3 CDs. However sometimes it doesn't work, and cannot find or mount
my CD drive. Interestingly I could mount it manually "mount -t vfat /dev/hdd
/mnt/cdrom"
or something like that. There maybe a but in the kernal or something ?

Oh, I tried AA17+18 again to scan for debian files. BOTH fail, saying it's
not a debian
CD even though they are scaned and indexed ;-(.
The 3 CD's I made scan okay, but when it comes to installing packages, another
problem
occurs ;-(

For instance, I get "perl-5.005-5.005.03-7.1.deb", "gzip: stdin: invalid
compressed data -- format voilated"
I don't know if I need to upgrade gzip or something.

I think I'm going to give it up and try Linux PPC 2000 instead, or Red Hat.
IMHO the Debian distro
and installer suck ;-(

I'll let you know when I find a working one.
