If you're thinking of WD40, _DON'T!_ While it doesn't conduct, it
does leave a residue to which dust sticks, and that can eventually
conduct. I know, because I used it once on a control relay (low
voltage) and not long afterwards that stopped doing its job until I
cleaned it all thoroughly.

I know WD40 doesn't conduct because some years ago I settled an
argument about it by doing a controlled experiment. WD40 in small
beaker, conductivity meter, etc. I'm told it's mostly paraffin.
('Kerosene' for our Transatlantic readers, for whom paraffin is a wax.)
