Well, my A4000 Power Tower Mk II arrived today, and it works a treat. The CS
MkIII still works fine even after I clanked the case about, so not all cards
have a problem.
Anyway... did anyone else get any instructions with their Power Tower? I
didn't get any, but it was no more difficult that putting together any other
computer, so...
If you have an A4K and are considering getting a Power Tower, I'd say go for
it. Sure, £210 is a lot of money for a case, but it gives you a lot of space.
And, although it is just a modified PC case, it is actually very well
modified. The A4000 mobo slots right in and all the screwholes line up
correctly, and there is a specially manufactured back panel so that all the
A4k external connectors fit perfectly.
The case is VERY well manufactured, and even has properly finished edges so
you don't bleed to death every time you take it apart. It is sturdily built,
and very attractive (I love the LEDs :).
Best of all, the PSU fan is nowhere near as noisy as the notorious A4k power
fan, so your neighbours will no longer know when you are using the computer
:)
Best of all, it was much, MUCH easier to install than when I put my old A1200
in to an eyetech EZ tower, (although the A1200 is a much more difficult beast
to towerise anyway).
So, I'm really pleased with mine :)) The biggest shock though, was ordering
some Amiga-specific hardware and receiving it 2 days later.... this has never
happened to me before. I was all geared up for month after month of "it'll be
in next week mate".
