I use a Trust Ami Scroll mouse. Nice name eh? The two wheels are fine for MS
use as the poxy scroll bars (as already mentioned) jump back to the top of
the page if you scroll too far!!!
My latest toy is a graphics tablet with a cordless three button mouse and a
pen.
Now that's a great toy! The cursor follows the pen exactly when hovered over
the pad. Touching the pad is a single left click. (Two buttons on the pen
are for double left click or single right.) If you do a lot of writing, such
as HTML it's sooo easy to use the pen for highlighting and then type away
with the pen in hand. Scroll mice, great! Graphics tablets, much better!!
Of course, not all scroll mice are good. My step son has one that is
ergonomically crap! It's impossible to move it without pressing the side
button! Only by using palm pressure rather than thumb and small fingers on
the side can it be used. Needless to say, I disabled the side button pronto!
A wheel mouse is a bit like a joystick, do you want direction and fire only
and lots of looking down at the keyboard during the heat of battle? Or would
you prefer as many functions as possible in your right hand, leaving your
left hand free to sup ale during a hectic dogfight? It's a matter of taste
and whether your right hand can multi-task! <ggg>
