I forget how long the fan took before it failed (was a year
mentioned?). Try breaking anything electronic to a point where it is
unrepairable, after a lengthy period of time and see if you can get a
discount or full cost replacement. I doubt you'd get one from any
company, simply because it's not financialy viable. If you do one,
then you'd have to do them all. p5 were in a bad enough financial
situation without having to fork out 600 quid each time a fan failed.
I guess it's a question of the old 'but for the cost of a nail, the horse
was lost, because the horse was lost.....etc'
I sympathise with you. A lot of money spent to get the best system available
and then it's rendered useless and you're back to square one! If this was a
PC mailing list it would be a common occurrence but it wouldn't be the fan
at fault, merely the date you bought your PC!
I wish there was something that we, as a group, could do!
