The same happens here with NewsRog.
It is a problem with BT Internet. News used to fly and I tended to do all my
newsreading at the weekend on their 0800 number. Now I do almost everything
via Zetnet even if it does use up my free units but at least the news batch
downloads without waiting ages.
The only time I now ever use the BTI news server is for a few of their
internal groups you can't access from elsewhere such as btinternet.amiga
Even then the few messages you get take longer to download than a full 200
from other NGs via Zetnet's server.
I dont know what BTI did to change it but the news server used to work fine
but in the past few weeks has been abysmal.
