After sacrificing 2 goats, 1 chicken and a partially used virgin, I have to incant:
Hi all,
The reason I'm asking this totally off topic question here is, I've just signed up for a course that requires the use of a PC asap, besides that, I don't know who else I can ask :-)
I've just been given a 1st Mainboard SD11 Motherboard (no manual), on the box is:
Support Slot A CPU
AMD 751 & VIA 686A Chipset.
4 USB (2 front)
The person that gave it to me insists that it will only take SLOT A AMD *#Athlon#* CPU's from 500MHz to 650MHz (expensive?).
What I need to know is:
1) Is it possible to use another AMD CPU besides an Athlon?
2) If so, what other (cheap) CPU's can I use?
3) Where is the best place to obtain one?
All advice appreciated.
