It also depends on the block size. Partitions with bigger blocks need
fewer buffers.

Partitions with lots of small files need small blocks and many buffers.

Partitions with a few big files (audio files, for example) need 16k
blocks and fewer buffers. A 16k buffer is of course 32 times as big as
a 512 byte buffer.
