I know this is damned annoying, but I agree with you too!
This is an Amiga mailing list and too much PC stuff is being posted!
But........I will always help wherever I can, no matter what platform.
I find the Linux set-up problems from the AACD annoying! What the hell has
Linux got to do with Amigas? More importantly, why do Amiga users want to
use it? Surely the Linux set-up problems only highlight the fact that Amiga
OS is damned easy to use and therefore the world and it's dog should shun
every other OS and go where the going's good? If the world and their
favourite pets decided to use Amiga OS then we'd all be a lot happier and
more enlightened than most, but life isn't like that! Windows is the most
popular OS and will always crop up at some point in any discussion, even if
it's because no one knows how to use it properly! Perhaps a different
approach to the titles should be adopted. Any PC questions should be
prefixed with 'PC' ie, "PC, I have a problem with networking".
That way you could ignore all PC questions. I feel it unfair to chastise PC
users simply because their OS is a pig at the best of times, after all, I
have an EZ/PC tower so have to use both systems! What about people that
shell out good money for DEV Boxes for the Amiga NG based on Windoze?
As I've already said, it's give and take, Amiga wants to be multi
platformed. Any Amiga discussion MUST be multi platformed or we are letting
the idea of an Amiga revival die!
Now is the time to make friends. Help those that need it most! In the future
Windows may be a minority of users cursing our existence! We've been there
for years, let's not let them see we've been bitter about it! Better to
smile knowingly, it annoys the sh*t out of them!
