Subject: | suggestion for upcoming AA magazine article... |
Hey AA guys (and all readers on the list)
I am very seriously thinking of buying "One" as soon as it becomes available, as an alternative to "jumping boat" and buying a PC...
I am currently researching the possibility of cable modem connection to my Amiga (the local supplier uses a strange configuration of DHCP and from what I gather, everyone trying to access it with their Amiga has not been able to, even after numerous attempts) So the alternative is only to buy a PC to be able to connect up to cable modem...
However... I have thought of something which may stop me buying a PC just to use as the gateway for the cable modem...
I know for sure you'll be doing an article on the new AmigaOne as soon as you can, so I have thought of some ideas to include in the article:
* Make it for dummies like me, who have not much idea of what is going on with the AmigaOne and how it will work... I mean, will it be able to boot up and let you choose between running Windows or the AmigaOE? Would it be able to run both OS's at the same time?
* This could solve my upgrade problems with the current classic A1200 as the AmigaOne will be a much more powerful and useable environment than my A1200/40MHz/66MB/SCSI/CV64-3d/CGX4 and would rather buy a future-proof AmigaOne than just upgrade my existing setup to a SharkPPC for example and still have to buy a new PC as well.
* There is little tit-bits of info about the AmigaOne on various sites on the web and it all seems to be abit vague to me... Am I the only one?
Maybe this is all too much to ask, but could be something you could mention in the article when it eventuates (if it's not already printed that is!)
