If you can't reproduce a bug, work with the person that reported it to you.
Find
out if anyone else has had the same problem. They're usually the kind of bug
caused by the programmer doing something stupid, maybe assuming things they
shouldn't. Take some pride in your work and fix anything that needs fixing.
I
usually spend ages getting annoyed trying to work it out, eventually find
it's
something stupid like a typo, have a good laugh at myself, add it to my list
of amusing programming cock-ups and get on with something else.

The reality is often "I can't reproduce it", "well, neither could I",
"gnargl" (good word ;),
and then "well, fix it anyway".
Then again, I write code for a single client who can tell me what to fix and
what doesn't
matter, not for millions of people where if 1 person has a problem I can
ignore it. And
how I wish I could get away with writing crap code and not fixing fiddly
little bugs that
nobody's likely to see anyway ;)
