An AmigaOne spec computer could use either a PPC or an x86 CPU. The
Eyetech one will use PPC, so it cannot run Windows. It could run PPC
Linux.

The Bplan AmigaOne is also a PPC machine.

Somebody else may release an x86-based machine which will run the
AmigaDE software. In fact, almost any standard PC should work, if you
give it a supported graphics card and sound card.

In principle, the DE can be run either as a complete OS on its own, or
as a parasitic OS sitting on top of Windows or Linux (like UAE or FUSION). Only
the latter allows you to "run both at the same time".

The advantages of the Eyetech product are:
1. You can attach an Amiga motherboard to it and run software that needs
AGA etc
2. It is from a well-established Amiga company operating in the UK, who
are not going to refuse to service it if you aren't running Windows.

Remember that nobody outside Amiga Inc has seen the AmigaDE running yet.
We might not like it when we do see it. It may be terribly buggy for the
first year or so. It may not support your favourite hardware. OS3.9
has been developed and debugged for 17 years, the DE is brand new and
untried.
