Yeah, you're right. The problem isn't that ram:ENV is hardcoded into
IPrefs, its just that for some reason IPrefs doesn't seem to work with
"assign ENV: ADD". I tried just assigning ENV: to ENVARC: and that
works without any ENV in ram. Now I don't need to copy any ENVARC
files to ram. I've eliminated the copy lines from my ss and added
several lines to my user-startup so "USE" will work.
By the way, where does HappyENV put "USE" prefs files if you have
no ENV: directory?
