I think if you're able to change the ENV: assign you should also be able to
comment out the C:copy ENVARC:... line. And I assume that's exactly what
Keith did :)

I tried it years ago, and it didn't work well. Didn't investigate the cause
though because I didn't like the HD rattling all the time anyway. But it
should only make a difference to Keith's simple assignment if some broken
software writes to ENVARC: but not to ENV: when you save its settings.
