The "IFF_Printer" Amiga OS printer driver might work:
ftp://de.aminet.net/pub/aminet/text/print/VirtPrinters2.lha
It's a Golden Oldie, but source is included in case
someone wants to fiddle with the density settings.
Maybe Peter Hutchison would like to have a go at it?
I've used it to produce illustrations for documents
directly from the XCAD hpgl plotter output. That way
it's been possible to compensate for the hardcoded density
limit of 300x300 just by scaling the vector drawing:
mydrw.xdr -> XCAD -> PLT: -> IFF_Printer -> mydrw.iff
