My point exactly! A DVD recorder is obviously a viable concept it's just
that as a new media, they're bound to milk it for what it's worth before the
next generation is released! CD players followed by CD recorders!
Then Alan said "err, no. the total target is how many until saturation (at
which point they have to give even better toys) " You can
buy a box that will record TV to a hard drive while you make a cup of tea
but it costs a fortune! Add a CDRW to it so that it can buffer to the hard
drive and then write to disk and you've got it!
Does this sort of technology sound like it's been mentioned before? Does
Digital Convergence ring any bells? Does Amiga start with an 'A'?
Hopefully Amiga's vision of the future will be a futuristic machine rather
than a box that can do what's current, only faster! Hell, even Winboxes do
what's current but ever faster!
One box that plays and records CD's and plays and records DVD's plays games,
does all that a PC does and can output to a monitor or TV as required. That,
to me, is digital convergence! <gg>
