1) SCSI card -- the way I see it, SCSI is SCSI, but here are some
suggestions:
-- A2091 -- forget it; too slow, probably needs to be upgraded if you
find one.
-- Built-in SCSI controller on the GVP-4060 -- very, very awkward to
use.
-- DKB SpitFire -- excellent card, very fast and very small.
-- Built-in SCSI controller on the Cyberstorm boards -- probably the
best Amiga SCSI around...
2) You only have a few options for adding extra RAM:
-- A2091 SCSI controller will allow an additional 2MB RAM. [blech]
-- Fastlane Z3 -- a SCSI controller that allows up to [I think] 256MB
RAM.
-- GVP4008 -- another SCSI controller, but with 8MB extra.
-- DKB RapidFire -- I think the same as SpitFire but allows an extra
8MB on the controller; this one uses 30- or 32-pin SIMMs [don't
remember which]; most of the rest I'm talking about take standard
72-pinners.
-- DKB 3128 -- a RAM-only Zorro-III card, allows up to 128MB RAM [4
32-meg SIMMs]
-- I know there's a RAM expansion module for the A3640 card, but
chances of finding one are about the same as the chances of finding a
guy whapping a cricket with a salmon.
Your best bet, really, is to get a CPU accelerator. You'll benefit from
both a faster processor and the ability to expand your fast RAM by 128
megs. The GVP4060 worked well for this for me, and the Cyberstorm MKIII
060 works even better. [The latter apparently has a 64-bit addressing
scheme.] All accelerators take standard 72-pin SIMMs up to 32MB each.
