16 meg might be a bit little (more cost so little extra so go for the
biggest you can find -and afford-)
driving the scanexpress 6000SP, betascan :-) (plug, plug) or scanquix 5,
scantrax should work without any problems (there seem's to be some
problem's with very high resolutions and early firmware (1.01) this might
be a combination of the amiga's pipe device (there might be bugs in it, if
anyone has a good, fast 4kb block pipe handler let me know so that I can
test it) and the scanner's firmware (there is problems with this scanner
-1.01- even on linux/win/mac)
the latest scanner drivers are available from my homepage (see below) the
changes from the aminet version is mostly in how the sane->betascan
conversion is done, I consider the betascan mustek driver to be in a stable
state (meaning better than beta)
on my homepage is also drivers for
Artec
Umax
and some more that's in alpha state
there is a total of 21 driver's on my homepage but the only one's that's
fairly safe to use
is Artec, mustek and umax driver's
the other's requires some testing.
With kind regards,
Jan-Erik Karlsson
