I disagree strongly If nothing else it shows that we have some smart cookies
running AMiga right now.

The Amiga OS isn't about recruiting more users to the platform. For many
Many Years Windows has been the dominant force in Desktop Software. You
can't compete against Microsoft. A small company such as Amiga would be
foolish to even try, they would go titsup.com before you could say. Windows
SuX0r5.
What Amiga appear to be doing is aiming for the digital appliance market. A
growing market not yet dominated by one company, with potential of a lot of
growth. So for financial and growth prospects its good. Meanwhile as
everyone is getting Amiga Toasters, showers and fishtanks. Amiga are
developing the Already good Amiga OS into a killer OS.
"Now lets see I own an Amiga toaster an Amiga Shower An Amiga FIshtank. they
should all be able to talk to each opther. but my windows box does an awful
job at it. Hey I heard theres a great OS called Amiga OS thats commpatible
with my Digital Appliance. I'll go buy that one."
Amiga aren't magicians, they can't suddenly make the world all better and
get everyone to buy there OS and/or products. Its a long term plan, there
are a lot of variables on the way. but it'll be fun getting there.
And One other comment. Would you like to Mention what they should of
announced to suddenly capture the desktop market?

Blah, Not really pessimism lack of vision. MorphOS is going no where fast.
WarpOS who cares, and besides that I'd be suprised if none of the
aforementioned OS's work is used in the New Amiga v4PPC

As I said before the plan is a long term plan. If it goes to plan i'd say 10
years and Amiga will be a houshold name again.

<sarcasm>Yes Amiga do have a history of Making stuff up.</sarcasm>
Really I'm sure sharp would be up in arms by now if it was untrue. Amiga
would be being sued for slander or something. Serious companys in the
serious world don't lie.

Amiga haven't just decided on there current course of action, they've only
just told you about it. They've been beavering away behind the scenes for
quite a while. Just because they don't go round keeping you updated doesn't
mean they aren't doing stuff.
TAO fed up. I doubt it, I think TAO has made an excellent choice. the only
people they'd be getting fed up with is the community considering some of
the stuff that has been said about them.
At the end of the day if Amiga does go belly up, TAO has managed to get
there technology into the hands of thoussands more developers that can code
TAO apps.

Why bother, sure v4 will only be on ppc, but by v5 it'll be hardware
independant. Who needs a clone, tied down to some other hardware. more stuff
to worry about to waste time and resources over. This doesn't mean they
aren't using the Developments in the AROS project or talents to help them
get V4 going.

Good on ya, and remeber you can always donate a kidney or a testicle for
cash, if it gets desperate.

MorphOS is going nowhere. OS's are pretty much becoming obsolete. Amiga's
Plan makes sense and is very clever, It makes economical sense as well as
practical sense.
