I've got Draw Studio installed here on an A4K with P96, and it works
perfectly - click on the text gadget, click on the page and type in
your text, use the drop down gadget to change font etc.

For "display" in DS I have:
Display type - 24 bit
Colour - Yes
Transparency - Yes
Gradient quality - High
Redraw Speed - low
Screenmode - PicassoIV:1024x768 24bit BGR
If it will help, I can send my DS prefs file off list?
