You don't /need/ two buttons, but it's a lot more productive.
I mean, take keyboards, do we really need 102 keys? technically you
can enter all the numbers / letters in the ascii table with only 8
keys, but it would be a nightmare to use.
It's the same with mice, more buttons mean you can do more things a
lot quick, with only one hand. For example to get a context menu you
just have to press the right mouse button, on a mac you need the
mouse button and hold down a key on the keyboard, that uses both your
hands, meaning you can't keep your hand poised over the return key
etc. Then you can have other functions with a third button/mouse
wheel etc.
I mean, as well as applications, think of playing Halflife with just
one mouse button, it's not physically possible! :)
Anyway it's not just the mice that are a pain, the whole OS gets on my
nervers. It's similar to AmigaOS in how it works, but this probably
highlights the differences to me more. Nope, give me the choice
between Windoze and MacOS, I'd have to go Gates. (of course if I
really had the choice I'd use AmigaOS :)
See ya :)
