Actually, all you need to use a computer is a switch yes we could all just
use a single microswitch to control our computers, people with disabilitys
do it everyday, after all binary is the language of computers.
But the only problem is its more difficult and rather awkward to use just
the one switch on and off, so why not add some more switches and make a
keyboard, and perhaps a mouse, with more than one switch.
On the plus side, with only one mouse button average joe user doesn't get so
confused on which button to press, but they also loose out on a lot of stuff
like the freedom to choose which button to press. and playing games like UT
Quake etc. is more difficult.
I heart my 5 button mouse with scrolly wheel et al, i don't use all the
buttons all the time, but they're useful when i need to jump quickly crouch,
then fire a few rounds into some punk trying to pop a cap in my ass with his
flak cannon.
