Tell that to Microsoft who seem to release more "updates" than OSs.
Win3, Win3.1, Win3.11, Win95, Win95 Rel 2, Win98, Win98 rel 2, WinME,
Win2K, WinXP...How many times do they need to get it right...and they
are still trying.
The fact we have a half decent one in 2 updates isn't that bad at all
given the above track record for MS (and several thousand more man
hours work going into an annoying excuse for an OS)
At the end of the day, at least we stil have development coming on the
OS, with none of the updates costing an arm and a leg, nor the actual
OS itself breaking the bank everytime. It's not as though we HAVE to
upgrade, and 30UKP is hardly much to moan about....unlike the 100+UKP
for any MS OS, and the 10-40MB d/l needed to fix bugs that have been
present since the year dot, then fixes for the fixes, and fixes for
those fixes and for some other unnecessary holes they just introduced.
TBH, all this bashing of everyone on all sides no matter who, is just
getting tiresome.
Cya,
Steven.
