Ok, so you want to know my topten then??? fair enough.. here goes!
1/ MiamiDX - I may have only been using this program since January but I
have got to say that so far I dont think I have found one other piece of
amiga software so good and easy to use (once you know whats what!)
2/ ArtEffect - It may have its bugs but overall it is a great piece of
software. Nice and fast and makes creating various effects easy (although
Photogenics does better in the effects area!). Wouldnt be without it now
for website image creation with its layers support and all other features.
3/ Directory Opus Magellan2 - At first I hated it, then a few days later I
though 'this aint bad', two weeks after that and I wouldnt be without it!
This is what the Amigas about! integration! fantastic software which has
now been stopped developed sadly.
4/ Wasted Dreams - This has to be one of the first games in a lonnnng time
that has held my attention all the way through from start to finish! shame
that there isnt much to go back to once it is finished though! :-/ NOW
WHERE IS THAT SEQUAL!?!?
5/ AmigaNCP (does this count?) - Software that allows me to connect my Psion
to my Amiga with no hassle. Simply 'does as it says on the tin'. It could
only be improved if I could mount Amiga drives onto the Psion (5mx) - Shame
work seems to have ceased on it
6/ Lightwave - Need I say more? I have only used it about 4 times so far
being honest and am awaiting to get my 060 problems sorted before I delve
into the program fully. I would love to see Newtek resume amiga support
when the 'nextgen' comes out. (and I wish that lightwave patch was released
to make v5 run on GFX cards better!)
7/ The Settlers - Top game from back in 93 (I think?) Passed many a
afternoon, evening and early morning playing this initially! Shame that the
Settlers II never actually got released.
8/ Turboprint - Ok, yes, yet another obvious choice I know. Another piece of
software that the system wouldnt be without now! I dont think I would be
having much luck with my printer without this software (even with OS3.5/9's
updated printer support)
9/ Cannon Fodder - Never did get this finished! :-/ I think I got as far as
level 24 (or was it 25?) deserves a mention for being a original and really
addictive game. I think I'll have to dig it out now and see if it will work
on my 060.
10/ Alien Breed Series! - Great games, all of em (If I have to pick ONE,
then it has to be Alien Breed 3D2 - the killing grounds - 'Quake type games
will never work on the Amiga' HAH! I remember jumping with shock when it
came out back in '96 when that bloomin big insect 3D type horrible thing
found me. I wish that RTG patch worked better for it though. Remember the
floating 'snot' balls? ;-) )
