I gotta admit though, that TKG was bloody great fun for when it came out -
especially after the SpeedUp patch. Not to mention that it really was extremely
hard work to get anywhere in it. I think I got the the 3rd or 2nd last level
without cheating but then it became bloody impossible to continue without
resorting to those wonferful saved game hacks to generate extra weapons and
energy ;-)

That said - TKG had an amazing atmosphere, and was quite terrifying at some
points. I don't think I have played any other game since where I would get into
a complete panic and scream out loud like Han Solo and Chewbacca chasing the
Storm Troopers down corridors in the Death Star while running around the
corridors in the game.
And those sounds - my younger brother had a bunch of school friends come over
and they sat playing TKG the whole night in the dark with the sound turned right
up. And whenever it sounded like something seriously deathly was coming up,
these guys would sit frozen in front of the screen, refusing to move any closer.
And one guy nearly s**t in his pants when he was skulking around in the dark and
was suddenly caught in the spotlights of the big red robot with the machine
guns.

Some of the levels were also very nicely designed, and were devious as all hell
- well, the playable ones anyway ;-)

Now if someone were to do a full conversion of TKG to use something like the
Unreal or Quake3 engine with todays hardware in mind - that would be bliss.
Complete with properly done intro's and cut-scenes and a decent end sequence.
And the last couple of levels redesigned to be somewhat more sane ;-)
