Hihi
On Thursday April 26 2001, Alan Buxey said to Neil Williams:

AB> oh no I'm not - anyone else recall the program? It boasted that it
AB> could do 2Mbps, but i didnt believe that claim

Well, not even my 060 powered parallel port can do that. The program's claim
is something like 10 times the limit I can get here :)

AB> the silversurfer is just a redone hypercom serial, yes?

Well, the two devices contain these texts:

SilverSurfer ligthspeed Server
$VER:SilverSurfer 2.102 (15.12.99)
(c) 1991-EVER by VMC Harald Frank

hyperCOM1 Board-0 MCP Server
$VER:hyperCOM 2.95beta3 (27.02.2000)
(c) 1991-EVER by VMC Harald Frank

I wouldn't say it was a redone hyperCOM1 - it certainly has a different
layout. If the chip is the same then the driver would only need slight changes
no matter what else was onboard.

They can do 230Kbps and 115Kbs without trouble or CPU load, I can tell you
that - HTML always comes in at near the maximum compressed speed the modem can
do.
