Have you tried running the Amiga as nothing but a motherboard, floppy
and TV, using the original powerpack? If that doesn't work, the
motherboard's stuffed. Eyetech can modify revision 2b motherboards
to 1d.1 specifications, so that might solve the compatibility problem
if you want to use one of your spare 2b boards.

If that doesn't work, or you don't fancy sending an unprotected board
through the post, you could try getting a second-hand 1200 from a car
boot sale; they're only about £30 these days. I tried to find a 1d.1
board when I got my 060 (1d.4 timing probs), but all I could find
were more 1d.4s. As long as you don't get one of the Escom-built
machines, it'll have a 1d.1 or a 1d.4 inside.
