Subject: | YAM crashes system when opening mail :( |
Hello everyone,
I have version 2.2 (040) of Yam and recently (last month or so) I have
noticed that it occasionally crashes my system immediately before it
displays the message text in the window it's just opened when I read new
mail. It doens't do it all the time, but it is annoying when I am still
downloading mail and decide to read a message halfway through downloading a
couple of hundred messages...
I don't get any read/write errors due to me using PFS2, but I have to
download the messages again after it's fixed up the index data... And it's
generally just a pain!
I'm not sure if it's got anything to do with me upgrading to the latest
version (I honestly can't remember when I did that!) or it could be to do
with OS39 (I recall a mention of html datatype being a glitch somewhere?).
I have just installed Boing Bag1 for OS39 and it still has the same problem.
I also have recently installed a second 32MB card onto the Blizzard
accelerator but I'm sure it was doing it before that, too.
The only other thing I thought it might be was possibly MUI but then it
would do it on a more regular basis, like every message opened to read???
I ran enforcer just before the last crash and the system was still running
but I could not change screens and the mouse pointer had disappeared. I
knew the system was still running because the data transfer was still being
updated in MiamiDX Control Panel for the modem sharing (PC upstairs was
connected at the time) - I have had the crash with and without the network
up and running, in case you were wondering. :)
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!
Regards,
Richard.
