I have to say that this happened to me a couple of months ago. I gave up trying
to rescue the drive. it wouldn't even lolevel format. basically I had absolutely
no way to get into the drive. Even if I tried to boot from floppy it would take
over 30 mins for it to boot as it was trying to recognize my Hard-Drive :(. I
ended up having to replace it with a new one. Only one consolation about this
4.3gb Hard-Drives had come down in price considerably since I bought the last
one. Oh btw the drive that PFS3 ate was only 1 year old. Other than that I'm
quite happy with PFS though I have avoided far more errors and validation issues
than with FFS. The only thing I would recommend is regular backups especially
with PFS as when it screws up it does so BIG TIME.
