I've had a couple of problems with PFS3, and it's always been when I've
been using MakeCD too! When creating an image file on my work: partition,
it filled the drive and over-wrote a load of data ... :/
The only time I've had a problem like yours was when I messed up the RDB
entry and PFS3 kept crashing when it tried to initialise upon booting.
Solution - I switched off and removed the IDE cable from the drive. Then I
booted up and once Workbench was loaded I reconnected the IDE cable. I ran
HDToolBox et voila, there was the drive ...
Try it¹, it might work for you too!
